Here is the Minnesota Great Outdoors Staff & some info about them:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Holdemtwice

Hello everyone! My name is Scott Brown. I have been fishing since I was 2 years old or so. (This is what my folks have said.) So, I‘ve been fishing for as long as I can remember. I started hunting later in life. I think I was around 13 or 14. My father was to busy, so a late friend of mine showed me the ropes. I started with squirrels, rabbits, and pheasant.

I moved to this great state of Minnesota on,April 1st 2005 and fell in love with it. My wifes’ family introduced me to hunting deer, and again I fell in love.

One day I was searching the web for ice reports, and came upon a website, (MNO) and that is where all of the idea of MGO started. I only caught the ice fishing bug just last year, and have learned a lot from some of the best ice fishing folks in this state since that time.

I am truly blessed to have made such great friends, and to be able to learn all of these different tactics for hunting & fishing. We here at MGO hope you find this site to be as great a site as we do.

In addition to MGO, I also own Scott Browns Wholesale Bait Company, which gets me even closer to the outdoors.  LOL! I also own a construction company (for the second time) and dabble a little in snow removal .

Ice Banger

Hi my name is Eric, aka Icebanger I was born in Willmar, Mn., and my parents moved me to Andover, Mn. We lived there for a few years and my dad then moved us to Kirkland, Wash., where I fell in love with fishing. Living near the mountains was a great experience. I had a great teacher in my uncle Jim, who taught me how to hunt the “right way”. I have been hooked ever since.

I met a hunting partner at a young age; “my brother from different parents”, Rob aka Bootleg. We have had some great memories being in a duck blind, out pheasant hunting, or on the lake, fishing, be it “hard water or soft”. I took up fishing 10 years ago and I really love it! Thanks to this site, MGO, I’ve some great friends out on the ice.

At the present, I live in Ramsey, Mn. with my beautiful wife, mrs icebanger, our cat Saberina and the star of our show, our lab, Jetta.

MnSportsman

Hiya Folks! My name is JB, & I live in S.E. Minnesota. I am the owner of a small construction company, dealing primarily with finish & framing carpentry.

I consider myself an avid sportsman, & since I live in Minnesota, back around 1994 or so I started looking around the Internet for items that involve the outdoors. Since many of the websites back then, & still to this day, ask for user-names; so I adopted MnSportsman, & I have been using the same user-name since then.

Here are some of the outdoors interests I have:

I have been hunting since the early 1970's. I enjoy hunting for small game, turkey, deer, pheasants & waterfowl. I use a bow, shotgun & rifle. Occasionally I have hunted with a handgun. I also enjoy hunting for wild plants, like mushrooms, leeks, etc.

As far as fishing goes...I have been fishing since I was a little "whipper" back in the 1960's. I love to fish for N.Pike , Walleyes & pan-fish, both in open-water & ice-fishing. And I particularly like to fish for Trout in streams & rivers.

I love to camp, both tent & camper style. Basically, when I am not working I’m spending most of my spare time out in the woods & on the waters.

Being in the outdoors is a passion for me. I am glad to be able to be a part of a great website like MGO, both to share with others what I can, & learn from the rest of you too. I hope you enjoy MGO as much as I do!

GirlGuidesMom

Hello! My name on MGO is GIRLGUIDESMOM, (aka Cathy). I have 2 out of 7 of my kids on the site—GIRLGUIDE (“Mouse”-Renee) and mnfirefighter ( “Panner”-Dan). Both have family nick names that stuck. We bought land up here, between Garrison and Brainerd 30 yrs ago.. Put a small cabin on it and came up all the time. Some of the younger ones grew up with -“We are going UP NORTH”, just about every weekend!!! As the kids started to get older the boys started Deer hunting, Smiley%20w%20Bullhornand that is still where they all go. Now even some of the grand kids hunt with them!! We also did a lot of fishingSwimming%20Fish back then too

I finally made a decision to make the big step and move up hereClap. But that took a lot of thought, for quite some time!! First, before I did move up here, I bought a small sewing business.. Moved it to Bloomington for 1 yrSlap%20Forehead. . Labor Day weekend of that year (3yrs ago), I decided to purchase this property where I am at, from the same guy I had bought the sewing business from. And yes, I did move the business back in the same place as it first was!!!LOL The kids had to help, and move all those machines back for meAngry!!  So I had the machines here, and had DAY CARE down in Bloomington!!!  I finally left the Day Care after 32 yrs.. It took about 6 months of going back and forth every week, before I finally, totally,, can say “I am here at last!Approve!!!  I, so love it up here!!! Would I go back? Thumbs%20Down Not in a heart-beat!!   Never— I don’t miss the cities at allWacko..

Since I have been up here I have joined Duck’s Unlimited, and the Garrison Commercial Club. I am also working on my class reunion for next summer. I have really met some nice people here, and working on the reunion I have reconnected with old High School Friends. Oh, I think I forgot to mention that I was born and raised up here in Brainerd. Neener%20NeenerI have 7 children--4 boys and 3 girls. Now, I have 19 grand Kids.. The kids come up all the time. Not too many weekends ever go by, that there is not one of them here with their family. They all fish and hunt here—Except one—the youngest girl—but they come up. So it is still “Grand Central Station” hereNeener%20Neener. I even have some of the Grand kids that come up to visit too.

I found MGO thru another site and so, when asked to be on Staff here, that was the best.. Big%20smile I have met some of You and we have had  great times together.... So looking forward to meeting some more of you-- maybe at the DU Ice fishing Contest on Feb.21, ’09, in Garrison,Minn. The DU will be putting it on and I will be working it!!! So hope to see some of you at there.Big%20smile

So I think I have rattled long enough--But I sure enjoy being here on staff and putting my 2 cent worth in once in awhile---MGO%20Rocks   GGM!!!!!
